Originally from the picturesque foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Eastern Kentucky, Stephen Powell brings a wealth of hospitality experience to Riverbend Country Club. With a 15-year career spanning Key West, Florida; Lexington, Kentucky; Knoxville, Tennessee; and Nashville, Tennessee, Stephen has honed his expertise at renowned establishments such as Pine Mountain Grill, Outback Steakhouse, Malone's Prime Beef Steakhouse, Drake's, and First Watch.
In May 2023, Stephen joined Riverbend as General Manager and has been inspired by the warm, welcoming community. Passionate about fostering a fun, laid-back, and inclusive environment, Stephen is thrilled with the club’s growth and looks forward to many more years of success with the members and staff.
Stephen and his wife, Maycee, share their home with two wonderful dogs: Winnie, their lovable Pyredoodle, and Maggie, a rescued poodle they welcomed into their family after finding her near hole 5 at RiverBend. If you’re a dog lover, stop by the office to say hello to Winnie and Maggie—they’d love to meet you!

Colleen Embry
Office Manager/ Catering Manager
Colleen is the Office Manager and Catering Manager at RiverBend Country Club since March 2023. With a focus on efficient and effective day-to-day office operations, she ensures that all administrative tasks run smoothly. Colleen is also your go-to person for assistance with special events and parties, making sure members and guests have a wonderful experience.Always ready to lend a helping hand, you'll often find Colleen actively engaged around the club, treating everyone with warm and welcoming hospitality.Beyond her professional role, Colleen cherishes her family life. She has been happily married to her husband, Don, since 1982. Her passions include gardening and a love for music. But above all, Colleen's heart is with her family, relishing moments spent with her son, Kirk, daughter-in-law, Kayla, and her three delightful grandchildren.
Robert Stanley McGill IV
PGA Head Golf Professional
Rob attended Middle Tennessee State University where he majored in Professional Pilot/Aerospace Administration. He began his golf career at WillowBrook Golf Course in Manchester, Tennessee as the Golf Shop Manager and moved on to Assistant Golf Professional. In 1998 Rob was hired as the Assistant Golf Professional at Stones River Country Club in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. By December of 2009 he was promoted to Head Golf Professional where he remained for 22 years. Throughout his career he has earned certification and the title of Director of Instruction for Tennessee for Five Simple Keys Coaching Fundamentals. He has also been awarded the Junior Golf Leader Award for Middle Tennessee Chapter 2012. Rob has been fortunate to have coached &/or worked with multiple high school players, four Hooters and Web.com players, as well as numerous collegiate players. He also coached four of the five Siegel High School State Championship Team players. In 2020, River Bend hired Rob as the Head Golf Professional. He and his wife of 16 years, Glenda, have one son, Braxton.
Jesse Reavis
PGA Head Golf Professional
Jesse joined Riverbend Country Club in January 2024 and has quickly become an integral part of the team. A graduate of Lincoln County High School in 2020, Jesse went on to earn an Associate's Degree in Sport and Leisure Management from Motlow State Community College in 2022 and completed his Bachelor's Degree in Sport Management from The University of Tennessee Southern in May 2024.
Jesse has been a valuable asset in the golf shop and is now expanding his experience by transitioning into food and beverage operations during the winter months. His short-term goal is to deepen his expertise in the golf industry, while his long-term aspiration is to become a General Manager of a country club.
Jesse has greatly appreciated the welcoming and supportive community at Riverbend, both from staff and members alike. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, watching sports, fishing, and hiking.
Jeremy Fann
Golf Course Superintendent
Jeremy Fann grew up in the Murfreesboro area and graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Plant and Soil Science and a minor in Biology. While in school he worked at many different courses including Vanderbilt Legends Club as well as Stones River Country Club. During this time, he completed a greens renovation for Joe Kennedy at the Little Course from Bentgrass to Sunday Bermuda as an AIT. After his time at VLC, he accepted the Assistant Superintendent job at Stones River. While working for Michael Brownlee he was mentored in the aggressive management of Ultradrawf Bermuda grass as well as learning extensive irrigation repair and maintenance.
Jeremy accepted the River Bend Country Club Superintendent role in April 2017 and currently lives in Murfreesboro with his wife Jessica and three daughters - Riley, Sadie, and Sofie.
Tony Thompson

With a remarkable tenure dating back to October 1980, Chef Tony stands as a true cornerstone of Riverbend Country Club's culinary legacy. Joining the club at the youthful age of 15, his journey has been one of dedication, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to the art of gastronomy.
For over four decades, Chef Tony's culinary expertise has evolved in sync with Riverbend's vibrant history. His passion for creating exceptional dining experiences has left an indelible mark on the palates and hearts of countless members and guests.
Beyond his role as Executive Chef, Chef Tony's life is a testament to the values he holds dear. A loving husband to Kimberly for 25 years and a proud father of five sons – Jakori, Chris, Myles, Brandon, and Kobe – family and relationships lie at the heart of his journey.
As a witness to the club's growth and evolution, Chef Tony has forged enduring connections with employees, members, and friends alike. These relationships, cultivated over years of shared experiences, have added a layer of warmth and camaraderie to his Riverbend story.
Looking ahead, Chef Tony's passion for culinary innovation continues to burn brightly. He remains dedicated to serving the Riverbend community, crafting unforgettable moments that celebrate both tradition and progress.
Josh Davis
Sous Chef
Josh Davis brings a wealth of culinary expertise to Riverbend Country Club. A proud Shelbyville native, Josh graduated from Shelbyville Central High School in 2009 before pursuing his passion for the culinary arts at the Art Institute of Tennessee-Nashville. From 2009 to 2011, he honed his skills in American, Asian, European, and Latin cuisines, earning his degree in culinary arts.
With deep roots in Bedford County, Josh has been a dedicated member of the community, previously working in landscaping and his family’s business, M&L Greenhouse. In March 2023, he married his wife, Kayla Marie Davis, and together they continue to call Shelbyville home.
